To every generation the Father has given prophets to speak on His behalf, and to point out sin. And to every generation since the Cross, the Father has given and still gives His prophets. The generations have come and gone but the prophets have never moved from their purpose for which the Father called them. Sin is the constant thread of the prophets' existence. Prophets are called to see, to exhort, to expose and to call to accountability.
Sin does not shock the prophets. Wickedness and evil and darkness, they witness again and again and again. But now, in this last Age of His Return, there is a new attitude among the prophets. They have a sense of resignation. They know that this is likely what will be to the very last second of time. As the church stays impotent, having no impact on the grievous state of the earth, deaf to warnings, and deaf to the Holy Spirit; as evil is called good and good evil, and sin becomes commonplace among those who say "Lord, Lord", the prophets are gathering in the shadow of the Cross and they are weeping.
The Father has given all He can give. He has loved, with all His being, the earth and the inhabitants of the earth that He created. And since the beginning of time, He has loved and given without measure to bring what He has made to Himself. And all of it has been for the most part rejected. He is rejected, and His Son is rejected, and His Spirit and His prophets, as always, are rejected. What I am saying to you now will offend the itching ears of those who only see what they want to see; comfortable, happy thoughts are all that are accepted or desired by them. See the earth and how deep is the darkness here. Jesus does. See the church and the darkness there, as they speak about themselves and what they will get from God, and the blessings they want from God, as they show how little they love that God. Jesus sees. No matter the Cross, no matter the written and living Word, no matter His own Spirit remaining here to help and teach and lead us. Darkness reigns in the earth and the church bears much responsibility for this worldwide deadness. They were to be the light of the world, instead they are bystanders to the sin and evil.
And so, at the end of this dark history, as they look along the channels of earth's time, the prophets, who stand in the shadow of Love's Cross, see still the unchanged world, the unchanged sin. So little light. Jesus is returning, and soon, but our legacy to Him is the earth mostly unchanged since last He was here. Our legacy is the ever-growing moral decay, the innocent blood, the mockery made of Jesus' name, the war against the family, the uncovering of the children who kill each other and their teachers and parents as never before. The ripping away of the existence of God in history books and classrooms. Prayer becoming illegal. We stood by in silence.
If Ninevah could change because Jonah obeyed God and stepped through the gates of that horrifying city, what could the Body of CHRIST have done, how different could it have been if WE had obeyed? If we had loved Jesus more than ourselves? The whole world is Nineveh, and this is our offering to our returning Bridegroom.
