"I'm so glad that God forgives. I've been to the cross and laid my sin on Him. I'm free of that burden. I do keep sinning, once in a while. But I rely on, and fully expect, and yes, I know He HAS to forgive me. I'll hold Him to His word."
"Let me take hold of that whip with my excuses and sin and maybe all the blows I inflict will tear the rest of His skin off His body."
"Is that His beating heart I see through His bones? Ah, but 'He'll forgive'."
"Let me take those thorns in my own hands as I say, 'I do keep on sinning, I know I do' and shove it down harder on His head. Maybe a thorn will pierce His brain next. Ah, but 'He'll forgive'."
"Let me take the hammer into my own hands as I excuse and excuse and excuse my continued sin, and let me drive those nails in myself."
A blow - "He'll forgive".
A blow - "He'll forgive".
A blow - "He'll forgive".
A blow - "He'll forgive".
A blow - "He'll forgive".
How many blows are you willing to give Him? Shall His body disintegrate under your hammer? That's okay, because as long as YOU'RE forgiven, well, that's what matters, isn't it?
How do you look to the Father, standing there with a bloody hammer and a sweet smile of "He'll forgive" on your face? He is not indifferent to the sufferings of His Son, even if those who SAY they love Him, are.If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. (Hebrews 10)
It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. (Hebrews 6)
