The enemy is fighting the remnant, who are serious about Jesus and His will, and the Holy Spirit wants to encourage us to trust Him and to continue to stand. One thing the enemy is doing is to try and sidetrack us into thinking that attacks we suffer are all about us individually. In particular, he seeks an entrance to accuse us. But the Father will defend us, as we withstand these attacks, which are occurring both in the spirit and in the physical realm.
The Father has been pouring out His Spirit, with revelation and understanding concerning the enemy and his tactics and plans. We are at the cusp of many things occurring; more deception to the fallen church from the enemy, and power to those who honor and love and obey Jesus, whose cross they cling to as their only hope of salvation.
He is pouring His Spirit towards His remnant and also towards those who are hearing the words of His remnant, and causing the listeners to be drawn by the Holy Spirit towards Jesus and obedience to Him. The Holy Spirit will give supernatural strength and trust to those who believe. When the Holy Spirit is very close, then you KNOW that you know that you can trust Jesus, and you KNOW that these trials are only temporary, and you KNOW that the religious are wrong about what they are teaching or saying about Jesus, and you KNOW that Jesus and Jesus alone is all that matters. And as we wait on Him and trust Him, He will draw very close, and we will be strengthened and encouraged and given power to speak and to stand for the truth in Jesus.
The religious will not discern the truth which the remnant are saying in Jesus' name, because they do not find it worthwhile to go to Jesus for the truth themselves. The Father said in Scripture, "they did not love the truth, so He sent them a deception to believe a lie". It is arrogance on any human being's part to separate themselves from the vine, who is Jesus. All should remember that eight people IN THE WHOLE WORLD were saved in Noah's day, and no one should take for granted that they will be among the few saved in this day. Jesus must show us personally that we are pleasing Him by our obedience to Him. It is one thing to be confident because you know that you know Jesus, and He has told you that you can trust Him, but it is another thing to take Him for granted, and to be self-complacent.
This same attitude was apparent in Jesus' day, when He walked on the earth. Remember the pool of Bethesda, where the angel came and stirred the water, and the first one into the pool was healed? Many Jews, in their complacency, felt that this was just another sign that God was for them and with them. They felt secure that they WERE Abraham's children. The complacency within the church is the same today. Many misinterpret the mercy of God, and any movement of the Holy Spirit, which is really to call them to repentance, and they feel secure in their belief that they are Jesus' people. The Holy Spirit will not strive forever with man, but will draw back when He is ignored. Then many will find themselves as the five foolish virgins did; having had "some oil" (because the Holy Spirit did move in their churches, and they did feel His presence at times) - but not enough to last them as they ready themselves for the approach of the Bridegroom, in the coming dark days, and in the coming persecution.
The remnant will, and have been, speaking boldly in Jesus' name, with the words that the Holy Spirit gives us, to warn of this, but the religious reject and judge what they hear, without asking Jesus. Deep calls to deep, yet those who never have deep thoughts, and who never look into things; who never wonder and then ask Jesus, cling to what they believe in a self-satisfied way.
So, remnant, this is what lies before us. We must become serious for Jesus. The deceived will become more deceived. Only Jesus can give us the wisdom and the strength, to stand for Him, speaking the truth boldly in love in the face of rejection and accusations. The enemy and the religious will oppose us in every way. However, we never hung on a cross for anyone. We are servants, and by love this is the offering we can give to Him in return for all He had done for us. We can offer our lives, and our willing service, even though it means rejection and accusations, and persecution. With joy, and trust, and love, let us do so.
In Jesus' love,
Char Tierney
