(Son of the unclean)1 Sitting by the wayside
I heard the noisy crowd
And something stirred inside
As the multitude got loud.
What is this great event,
I cried for a reply
And wondered what it meant.
They said, Jesus passes by.
He drew close, He was near,
And so then I cried out,
But my voice they'd not hear
As I began to shout,
Jesus, thou son of David
Have mercy on me.
Hold your peace, I was charged.
I shouted more, for I feel
My faith now so enlarged,
I knew that He could heal.
Jesus, thou son of David
Have mercy on me.
He stopped and I arose
And cast my garment from me
And left it there for those
Blind to faith, who won't see.
What wilt thou ... He said so sure
... that I shall do ... with a
love so pure ... unto thee?
Lord that I might ... O hear
my plea ... receive my sight.
In that very hour
My sight was then received
By His healing power
Because I had believed.
Jesus spoke to my soul
And now my eyes are cured.
Thy faith hath made thee whole.
For my faith has endured.
Blind faith, I hear you say?
But I have seen His face!
There is no other way
To know His loving grace.
Ask of Him what you will
The world's blind, but be bold.
Jesus stops, and stands so still.
Thy faith shall make thee whole.
Jesus, thou son of David
Have mercy on me.
What wilt thou ...
... that I should do ...
... unto thee?
Lord that I might ...
... receive my sight.
Jesus, thou son of David
Have mercy on thee.
