Once Upon A Time
Once upon a time, Seeker looked for Truth.
Seeker went to the delicious door of Appetite and knocked. Appetite opened and said, “I am he for whom you look, for I am Powerful.” Seeker replied, “Yes, you are Powerful, but are you Truth?” And he went away.
And he did not find Truth.
Seeker went to the beautiful door of Self and knocked. Self opened and said, “I am he for whom you look, for I am King.” Seeker replied, “Yes, you are King, but are you Truth?” And he went away.
And he did not find Truth.
Seeker went to the logical door of Intellect and knocked. Intellect opened and said, “I am he for whom you look, for I am Ruler.” Seeker replied, “Yes, you are Ruler, but are you Truth?” And he went away.
And he did not find Truth.
Seeker went to the appealing door of Spiritualism and knocked. Spiritualism opened and said, “I am he for whom you look, for I am Mysterious.” Seeker replied, “Yes, you are Mysterious, but are you Truth?” And he went away.
And he did not find Truth.
Seeker went to many doors, drawn to them by their designs, colors, sizes and exciting sounds from behind those doors.
And he did not find Truth.
One day Seeker came to a weather-beaten, time-ravaged, worn and extremely narrow door. Seeker felt a satisfying stirring within himself and was powerfully drawn to the door.However, he did not knock, but he said to himself, “Surely, there is no reason to believe that Truth is behind this old door.” And he went away.
And he did not find Truth.
