International Order of Job's Daughters
The International Order of Job's Daughters is a premier organization for young women that provides a wholesome environment based on the foundation of high morals, love of country, love of family and friends and respect for others throughout the world. It is a living organization dedicated to meeting the needs of young women today and their challenges of tomorrow. It is a quality organization that fosters a sense of pride in achievement for each and all members as they prepare to become the adult leaders of the future.
The purpose of Job's Daughters is to teach young women to live responsibly, morally and righteously. The Book of Job is a strong foundation upon which to build this training for it deals with a very real person, a fallible human being Job. By studying the trials and triumphs of this man, we hope to discover how to direct our own lives to the end that we may receive our final reward.
Upon receiving the Degree of Royal Purple, recipients are given a gold medallion. On the medallion, they find engraved a figure of a Junior Princess holding a White Dove. It is meant to remind recipients to always be patient and diligent in thier work and, as Job endeavored to teach his children of the Power of the One Living God, may they also become useful instruments in conveying His love and peace.
Also pictured is a Senior Princess holding the Urn of Incense. It symbolizes the important lessons of the story of Job's anguish and suffering, and the final triumph of his dedication to God. If ever you begin to doubt the Lord's presence, study briefly the soft colors of a sunrise or the fragrant beauty of a rose, and your faith will be renewed.
Along with the two princesses, the medallions have engraved upon them an Honored Queen and her symbol, the Horn of Plenty. Recipients have learned well the teachings of the First and Second Epochs or they would not receive nomination to the Degree of Royal Purple. Yet, recipients have another lesson to learn, that of reward. You must realize that the reward of receiving the Degree of Royal Purple does not signify the termination of thier work in Job's Daughters. Rather, it should inspire them to continue in thier devotion to our Order. They must remember that all people are equal regardless of race, creed, color or achievement, and must not allow pride or conceit to interfere in thier relationships with other Daughters of the Bethel. Recipients must, above all, live up to thier own high standards so that they may encourage others to adopt the kind of life that merits the Degree of Royal Purple.
Recipients of the Degree of Royal Purple have proven themselves to be deserving of your respect and admiration.

Grand Bethel.
All those concepts and more. |
|
Membership in Grand Bethel gives the opportunity to grasp the ideas of those concepts and shape a set of tools to pave the pathway of Job's Daughters in the future. Grand Bethel members are Job's Daughters from Indiana bethels, all whom have served or have been elected to serve as Honored Queen of their Bethel. These members hold the responsibility of helping all Bethels, maintaining an active role as a supporting force in the training and leadership of Indiana Job's Daughters, even though active membership in a Bethel has been completed.
There are 25 officers, a representative to each state, province and country wherein Job's Daughters is organized (California has two representatives due to the number of Bethels) and a Region Chairman for each Grand Bethel region. The Grand Bethel Honored Queen, Senior Princess, Junior Princess, Guide, Marshal, Recorder, Treasurer and Three Year Committee Member are elected by the voting delegates at the annual Grand Bethel meeting. The delegates also elect the Grand Bethel Guardian and Associate Guardian who serve as advisors.
There is a Grand Bethel Committee consisting of four members whose main purpose is to interpret the Bylaws of Grand Bethel and to care for and distribute the notebooks and badges of the officers. Throughout the year the Executive committee, which consists of all elected officers, meets to make decisions concerning the projects and activities affecting all members. The Junior Past Grand Bethel Honored Queen serves on this committee for one year. |
|
The Grand Bethel Honored Queen appoints members to the offices of Chaplain, Musician, Corresponding Secretary, Bethel News Reporter and Librarian. She also appoints the Region Chairmen, who promote Job's Daughters within their respective regions. The remaining non-elected officers are selected at random from those in attendance at the Annual Meeting.

|
The success of Grand Bethel depends on the active participation of all its members. They must travel as much as possible and fulfill their duties as an officer, representative, or member. |
