First day back after several inches of snow and single digit and a 15 below.
Less than a hundred feet gained, ground frozen and too hard on equipment.
Not wishing to have an expensive breakdown. Will be back when conditions improve.

March 2, 2009 Monday - Back on The Job.
Dug this large hole "launch pit" north side of the railroad.
Tuesday
Put in place the boring equipment and casing pipe and drilled and pushed it under the railroad.
Wednesday
Dug a smaller hole "receiving pit" south side of tracks.
Water main was slid through and connected to the south Main St. run already completed.
Thursday
Dug another 3/4 block toward the highway.
Friday
Dug to the highway.
Monday Mar 9
Connect into the line at the highway.
Tuesday March 10 - install hydrants on N Main.
Wednesday March 11 - Connect at Howard and Main and proceed east.
Thursday March 12 -
Friday March 13 - Gas line in the way...the hard way.
Monday March 16 stopped at Fulton St.
Found this.
Just a truck load of concrete for a tie down anchor for one end of a fire dept water ball cable.
Maybe a little over-kill.
Tuesday March 17
Fittings installed at Fulton St., the water plantand the wter tower.
All lines were chlorinated, flushed and tested for bacteria, all passed.
Thursday March 19
Pipe is in and streets being cleaned. Next is individual home hookups.
Spring Break Week even for contractors.
March 30, back on the job.
Hooking up to meter pits.
Everyone gets a hole in their front yard.
Exposing the water main again to tap for a service line connection.
Downtown finished
and on to the highway again.
Project Extended 2 Blocks.
Main to Franklin to the railroad.
New location of hydrant to a larger line and better for servicing the large buildings
of Ran Del in case of - well, don't want to think about it.
Paving Begins June 2
