Opening Night With Radar Showing Heavy Rain Approaching
Blue Grass Band Played til Lightning Was Too Close
A Few Hung Around til the Last Minutes Before the "Monsoon" Hit.
Rained from 7:35 til midnight. 1.5 inches during May, 2.3 inches first night of the fair.
Friday Evening Rain Came Early Then Fair Opened Late.
Many booths did not open and turnout was light.
Saturday Parade Was Set to Begin But
As another storm approached, parade was canceled just before another "monsoon" hit.
A funnel cloud was reported and photographed
on the Muncie bypass.
Saturday evening opened right on time with perfect weather then and nice turnout.
Too late however, to save the event from being profitable.
