I know lately that things have become very difficult between us. That is why I feel I need to write this letter. Even though we haven't been 'ridin' double', I want you to know that I still love you with all my heart and my love for you will never die.

We are getting ready to go on the hardest run that probably all of us have ever faced. It is important to me Lou, that you do not come with us this time. I know that this is not what you want to hear, but it is for the best. Even though I do not want to say this...I fear we may not come back.

If in the event that something should happen, I want you to know that I loved you since the day I first laid eyes on you.

I do not want this to be a goodbye letter. Instead, Lou, think of this as your way out. You have your whole life ahead of you, and someone better than myself deserves to be with you more. I know that whom ever you choose will be as happy as I was with you.
