A Father's Love

He opens one eye, pearing toward the end of his bed.
From just above his feet, her eyes gaze slowly back.
A small tear drops.
Her damp eyes open his.
"Daddy, I'm scared," she says through trembly voice.
"I need a flashlight to lighten my very dark room."
The story continues.
The digits now flash three o'clock.
He gets out of bed, and they both go to the closet.
She now has a flashlight.
He tells her words of comfort.
He sits by her side while she slowly goes to sleep.
She sleeps once again.
She has come to him every night.
He's a father who did what he didn't have to.
He could have become angry and told her to go back to bed.
I'm sure she knew that.
But she definately needed comfort.
He was there AGAIN to comfort her like always.
A father's love
Expressed without limit or end.
Is it not the same as the love my father gives?
I come over and over
To a father who listens each time.
I'm the only one who keeps myself away from this love,
A love that comforts,
EXPRESSED WITHOUT LIMIT OR END!!!
