Secretive Faith
I put on my secret cover.
God asks that I continue this,
And nothing I do will he miss.
So I hide behind my blanket,
To be closer to God than ever,
Partaking in a spiritual endeavor.
It's harder than it may seem.
My pride often gets in the way.
I could speak of his grace all day.
I want everyone to know,
"I'm doing all this for God right now."
And I could do this without him how?
But he asks that do this in secret.
He sees my secret effort and prayer,
And my reward is way beyond fair.
So I guess I'll keep it on the lay-low
I'll challenge myself to just hush,
Though my pride may make it tough.
Damn my pride!
