The AeSI was formed in Dec 1948 to promote the development of aeronautics and the aeronautical sciences in the country. The very first annual general meeting of the Society was held at the Puttana Chetty Town Hall here in Bangalore in Dec 1948 and Pandit Jawaharalal Nehru was the Chief Guest. Since then the Society has grown and now boasts of 4000 members with 13 branches spread all over the country. This is the Golden Jubilee year of the Society. We had a Golden Jubilee function on 24 December 98 at Puttanna Chetty Town Hall.
