Quote of the week: ------------------ Nanndha vanathiloar aandi avan naalaru maadhamai kuyavanai vaendeey kondu vandhaan oru thoandi adhaik koothaadi koothaadi pottudaith thaandi. - Kaduveli sitthar [ nanndhavanam - garden, aandi - poor man; naal - 4; aaru - 6; maadham - month; kuyavan - pot maker; vaendee - requested; kondu vandhaan - brought; oru - one; thoandi - an utensil to draw water from well; koothu - dance; pottu udaithan - dropped drown & broke it.] [Once there was a fellow who got a pot after pleading much to the pot maker. This fellow, broke the pot, after much hassle to get it, by carelessly dancing with it in joy.] {The meaning implied though seems to be this, the actual meaning is - that a human being after staying 10 (4 + 6) months in his mother's womb, after coming to the world, forgets his gift of life from God, finds himself immersed in joy (worldly) and simply dies (loses) his precious life. } Kural of the week: ------------------ Maghanthanthaik kaatrum udhavi evanthanthai Ennotraan kolenum sol. [ maghan - son; thanthai - father; aatrum udhavi - helping; sol - word] [ A help (!) done by a son to his father, is to make others speak how much blessings his father would have, to get such a son.] Do you know ? ------------- Everyone of us would have seen Lord Nataraja, in dancing posture. Some of us would know (from previous mails or by some other means) that it signifies the Cosmic dance, which constantly take place at the Ozone layer. But, have you ever wondered - why should HE be given a dancing posture or that form of art (dancing). It is not simply that, to signify that electrons constantly, but DANCE is the only form of art (out of 64 arts, by Tamil literature) which the observer cannot imagine or appreciate without the performer - the dancer. There is no dance, without the dancer. But, the other forms of arts like music, painting doesn't actually require the players like musician or painter to be present - to hear or view the form of art. Dance is the only one which needs the dancer to DANCE. So only, Lord Nataraja is depicted as a Dancer, without whom, the world cannot be imagined.
