Quote of the week: ------------------ Nallaar oruvarkkuch seidha ubagaaram kalmael ezhuththuppol kaanumae - alladha eeramilaa nenjathaark keendha ubagaaram neermael ezhuththukku naer. -Ouvaiyaar [Nallar - good people; oruvar - somebody; seidha - did; ubagaaram - help; kal - rock; mael - over; ezhuthu - inscription/letter; poal - likewise; kaanum - visible; alladha - but; eeram - kindness; ila - without; nenjathaar - hearted people; eendha - gave; neer - water; naer - similar] [Help done to good people are like inscriptions on a rock (lasting for ages), while the help done to unkind people are like letters on water/liquid (which will not last even for a second). ie, Good people always remember whatever help they received, while others forget, the next moment.] Kural of the week: ------------------ Aakkam izhandhaemenru allaavaar uukkam oruvandham kaiththudai yaar. [Aakkam - creativeness/power to create; izhandha - lost; allaa - not; uukkam - enthusiasm; oruvandham - never; kaiththu - possess] [Those who posses enthusiasm, never care if they could not succeed (as they know they will succeed one day, with their persistent, hard work).] Thought of the week: -------------------- Has anyone travelled with the speed of light ? Well... can anyone ? Highly impossible for us - human beings, as the moment one travels, strange things happen (which we shall not get into detail here). But, everyone beleives/accepts the calculated/simulated test results. So also religion and culture has some beliefs (which some call 'stupid', as like people who would've called Einstein when he first came with Relativity theory) which is beyond scientific or physical proofs. When we try or spend time to understand the higher or advanced physics, why shouldn't we give a thought on why things are 'their' way, in our normal life ? Someone who has travelled at the speed of light only can explain how it feels. The moment he travels, he doesn't come back to our normal world. So also, one who finds the Truth doesn't come to normal plane. Instead of resisting/rejecting the ideas, let us spend time to find the Truth. Think !!!!. Site of the week: ----------------- Astronomy.... or astrology ? Whichever dimension one looks, it's amazing how our ancestors so precisely calculated planet's positions, star charts, etc., without any radio/astronomical telescopes or satellites. Site of this week is about Navagraha (or Nine planets) explaining the terms used in indian astrology, graha temples in India, notes from Encyclopedia Britannica, astral omens and prayers (even Muthuswami Dikshitar's kirtis for music fans). The writings and the translations were made with the little knowledge, I had then and hence may not be exact.
