[Naguthar - to laugh; poruttu - purpose; nattal - mistake (?); miguthi - excess; kan - in case; idaththar - to correct] [Friendship is not only to laugh, but to correct when the other makes mistakes.] Thought of the week: -------------------- Nothing can be more rewarding than striving to apprehend the Ultimate Truth. When the Upanishads speak of an Ultimate Truth, the Truth they allude is not the synonymous with dictionary meaning of the english word 'truth'(That is why the capitalization of 'T'). The Ultimate Truth transcends both good and evil, truth (the dictionary meaning) and lies, and all such qualifying articles. The definition of Ultimate Truth as understood by you is not the same as the one Upanishads give. According to them, you are not just a component of the Truth, you are it (Tat tvam asi). To use the words of Alexander Pope, Seas roll to waft me, suns to light me rise; My footstool earth, my canopy the skies. That is the confidence of the realized person. They (Upanishad) say: "You imagine yourself to be a mere 'component' of the Truth, but that is your ignorance - 'Maaya'. You 'are' the Truth, fully and unconditionally; only you don't realise it. All your spiritual quest is an excercise in removing this misconception as to who you are". {From a website, whose address I donot remember now.} Site of the week: ----------------- Templenet.
