The Right Team
I am overjoyed that the right team will finally be representing the East in
this year's Grey Cup. Sitting in the South side stands in Molson Stadium on
Sunday afternoon, I felt pretty sick after Winnipeg gained a well earned
13-0 lead. It looked like it was going to be 5 years of frustration in a
row. The home team looked awful in the first quarter, as Khari Jones
danced circles around Montreal's front seven. Luckily for the Montreal
fans, the defence tightened up after the first quarter and the offence did
juast enough to win the game. The Blue Bombers put up a valiant fight and
should be even better next year, as the young QB will have gained
experience and maturity.
I will not be terribly disappointed if the BC Lions win the Grey Cup, as
long as the Cavillo led Als give us a good show on offence. I am not
asking for too much. Just a TD each by Haskins, Davis, Climie, Cahoon and
Alexander and a few 30 yard runs by Pringle. I fully expect the Lions to
give us a good show. If the Als had trouble with Khari Jones, they should
have an even rougher time with Damon Allen.
As a fan of both the Alouettes and the CFL, I expect an entertaining, high
scoring game. Final score: 38 to 35. Winner? Very hard to pick; Montreal
has the better record but the Lions are red hot! This should be fun!
