Four Bombers named to CFL All-stars

Four Winnipeg Bluebomber players were named on the 1998 CFL Eastern All-Star team. DT Joe Fleming, LB Grant Carter, RB Eric Blount, and OT Christopher Perez were all named to the 1999 CFL Eastern All-Star Team. Joe Fleming joined the Bomber squad in early 1998. He recorded 15 sacks, 44 defensive tackles and 4 special teams tackles last season. Joe's amazing performance earned him an NFL contract with the Chicago Bears. Eric Blount also had a career season. Th explosive special teams player recorded a CFL record of 1,695 yards in kickoff returns. Christopher Perez was named to the CFL Eastern Division All-Star team for the second consecutive season. He recorded 2 defensive tackles last season with the Winnipeg Bluebombers. Grant Carter was named to the CFL Eastern All-Star team for the first time in his career. He recorded 51 tackles and 8 QB sacks in 1998.
