Generation X

Some things are oh so clear to me, others I cannot see.
I know all my goals and ambitions, but what do I want to be?
Everything's ending, and everything has an end,
but I've still got letters to write, and others to send.

I'm not making sense, I know that, you know,
but some fools believe that a red light means go.
If that's what you want, drink till you die,
but don't ask yourself why, cos the answer's a lie.

We're all lighting up, all having a smoke.
We all treat life like it's one big joke.
No ambitions, no goals, no future ahead.
We can't be bothered even getting out of bed.

Don't want no help, no education or nothing.
I'm just smoking my dope, huffing and puffing.
There ain't no more English, our whole language is slang.
"Yo bro! Wot's up? Y'all wanna hang?"

Life's full of problems, but there are no answers.
If you don't join in soon, you'll run out of chances.
And next time you're stuffing KFC down your throats,
remember "the water is freezing, and there aren't enough boats."
