Keep singly in tanks of 40 inches (100cm), in pairs in tanks over 48 inches (120cm). Food: Nutritious live food; also food tablets. Sexual diffrences: Females have a more round belly. Breeding: Spawns in holes and cracks. Transfer eggs to a rearing tank. Start feeding with Arternia. Special remarks: These fish emit barking sounds during spawning. Biotope: Still and slow-moving water in West and Central Africa.
