(100 cm). Stratum: Middle. Water: pH 7-8; medium hard to hard; 72 - 82*F
(22 - 28*C). Set-up: Tank will circulation. Males are aggressive among themselves
and occasionally toward other species. Keep either just one male or
enough for the aggression to be spread around. Food: Vegetarian food,
also nonvegetarion food and food flakes. Sexual diffrences: Males
smaller , than a "sword" on the caudal fin; gonopodium. Breeding
: Isolate highly pregant females. Feed young with live and dry food.
Biotope: Rivers in Mexico and Guatemala.
