The Cynos/Paseo is not a very Popular car in Ireland/Uk, I don't know why, but there a fab car to drive, and dead comfortable and Fast. The Japanesse Import(Cynos) is by far a more powerful car then the European spec model. "> My Toyota Cynos
There is a myth here in Ireland, about Jap Imports, Most garages won't want to talk to you, and will tell you to stay away from them because if anything happens to them, it is impossible to get part's (spares). Well this is not True. It is easy to get part's for Jap import's This is because their alot more popular around the country now, than 10 year's ago when the first import came over the water. If you look at alot of the Taxi's in Dublin you will see that there Jap Imports (square No. Plates) Import's will alway's have low milage, on the clock. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE CLOCK HAS BEEN PUT BACK> This will be guenuine Millage. The Japanesse, Have a very strict MOT test, which really only allows a person to own a new car for approx 3 year's. Their are no open road's, to bring their car out for a long hard spin, so they can't be run to the ground, and apparently they are taxed on milage, so that's the reason the milage is low. And there is no Second hand car market either. So these car's get shipped to Ireland/Uk. (Right hand drive countries), and sold to us. Last of all their cheap, because of the currency difference, Pound to the Yen. Another thing to consider is the amount of extra's you will get, Their all top spec, come with Air Conditioning, All electrics, Power steering, ABS, (some with Alloys any top class tyres like Yokohammas etc..,) Any probably much more. Most of which you would have to pay for as extras on non imports. If you want to buy an Import in Ireland, make sure the garage is with the IMDA organisation, as you will get a very good warrenty (anywhere from 3-6 months to 2-3 year's). I bought a 91 Cynos from my local Jap Import garage and got a 2 year warrenty on it..... Not bad.
