Bwthyn yng Nghymru
Wel dyma'r hen dŷ rwy'n ei garu
Hen dŷ cān a phennill yng Nghymru,
A'r gwellt iddo'n dō
a'r drws heb 'run clo
A'r mur ddim rhy falch
i'w wyn-galchu
A digon o le wrth y pentan
I gynnwys y teulu yn gyfan,
A golau'r tān mawn
yn hyfryd a gawn
I gadw'r tywyllwch tu allan.
A Dafydd a'i law ar y Delyn,
A Gwen gyda'i phennill yn dilyn,
A'r awen fwyn dlos
yn canu'n y nos
I gadw'r bwganod o'r gegin.
A'r pistyll bach gloyw yn disgyn
Dan ganu wrth dalcen y bwthyn
A'r ddŵr gloyw glān
sy'n dweud am y gān
A genir o fewn yr hen fwthyn.

A Cottage in Wales
See here is the old house I love
The old house of song and verse in Wales,
With its straw for a roof
and the door without any lock
And the wall not too proud
to be whitewashed.
With enough room by the ingle-nook
To include the whole family,
With the light of the peat fire
nice to have
To keep the darkness outside.
And David with his hand on the Harp,
And Gwen with her verse following,
And the pretty, gentle muse
singing in the night
To keep the bogeymen from the kitchen.
And the little bright waterfall falling
While singing opposite the cottage
With the pure, bright water
which is telling of the song
Which is sung within the old cottage.
