Crist ar y Groes

Pwy yw hwn sydd yn poeni? - Iesu yw,
    Roes ei waed i'n golchi;
  Drwy boen fawr bu'n dihoeni,
  A'i boen oedd ein beiau ni.

Y cyfiawn uniawn yno -
      a fwriwyd
    I'w garwol groeshoelio;
  Gwanwyd eirf drwy ei gnawd o,
  A'i Dduwdod gadd ei wawdio.

Ei Dduwdod oedd guddiedig; - dyn welwyd
    Dan hoelion, yn unig;
  Gwres a ddeddf dan y groesddig -
  Gwaedodd y bendigedig!

Gofir angau cyfryngol -
      yr Iesu
    Drwy'r oes fawr dragwyddol;
  O'i frodyr niferiadol
  Ni bydd un mewn bedd yn ôl.

Who is he who is in pains? - Jesus is he,
    Who gave his blood to wash us;
  Through great pain he languished,
  And his pain was our faults.

The righteous, upright one there -
      who was purposed
    To be roughly crucified;
  Weapons were weakened through his flesh,
  And his Divinity got mocked.

His Divinity was hidden; - a man was seen
    Under nails, only;
  The heat of the law under the cross-wrath
  The blessed one bled!

His mediatory death is to be remembered -
      Jesus
    Through the great, eternal age;
  Of his numerous brothers
  There will not be any left in a grave.
