a ddangosodd Duw yn ei ragluniaeth tu ag at ein gwlad, yn y Heddwch diweddar, a'r Cynhauaf heaethlawn. Rhyfedd, da rinwedd, dirionwch - ein Naf A'i nefawl ddyn-garwch! Rhwyddodd in' wawr o heddwch, Ar ol blwyddau flammau fflwch. Rhyfel (ail ryfel ofwy - anwyol) Ein daear bu'n tramwy; E fu'n nodawl ofnadwy, I fynnu maeth, fwy nâ mwy. Rhwysgodd, e lyngcodd yn lew wangcus - dorf O dirfion wŷr prydus: Y gwâs triphen gwastraffus, Dyddiau ei raib nid oedd rus. Y Llew blwng! teilwng attaliad - gwiwfawl A gafodd ei rediad: E ddoi awch i heddychiad, Er lludd i gledd, er llwydd gwlad. Yn rhodd, Naf hyfodd hefyd, - o'i fwynwaith Anfonodd helaethfyd: Llawnder wedi culni c'ŷd, Pêr iawn-fael ar ol prin-fyd. (Cnwd da, gwỳn eitha' gwenithyd - goddwys A guddiodd y gweryd: Caem wlad lawn o rawn yr ŷd; Caem, dlodion Frython, frithyd.) Rhown fawl hoen weddawl iddo - (hoff ddychwant) A phwy ddichon beidio? Am droi'r dig ffyrnig i ffo, A mediad prin i 'ymado.

which God showed in his provision towards our land, in the recent Peace, and the abundant Harvest. A wonder, a good virtue, the tenderness - of our Lord, And his heavenly kindness! He has expedited for us a dawn of peace, After years of prodigious flames. A war (a second fearsome war - ruinous) Our earth was traversing; It was notably terrible, To grow nourishment, more than more. It flourished, it swallowed as a craving lion - a multitude Of fresh, beautiful men: The three-headed wasteful servant, The days of its voraciousness were not hesitant. The fierce Lion! a worthy hinderance - praiseworthy Who got his run: He would come eager to conciliation, To hinder his sword, to govern a country. As a gift, an agreeable Chief also, - of his pleasant work Sent an abundance: Fullness after meagreness so long, Sweet bounty after scarcity. (A good crop, extremely white wheat grain - truly intense Which hid the soil: We had a land full of the grain of the corn; We had, poor Britons, speckled corn.) Let us render lively, worthy praise to him - (a lovely desire) And who could not? For turning the fierce anger to flee, And scare reaping to leave. tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion |
