A ddaeth yr olaf ddirfawr ddydd?

(Dydd y Farn)
A ddaeth yr olaf ddirfawr ddydd?
  A glywaf sain
      yr udgorn mawr?
Mae'n siglo'r byd, -
    pob bedd yn rhydd,
  Deffro holl gaethion
      llwch y llawr;
A'r dyfnder mawr yn rhoi yn nghyd,
  I fyny'r meirwon oll yn awr,
Rhag ofn gorchymyn
    Barnwr byd,
  O flaen yr orsedd faingc wen fawr.
Dafydd Owen (Dewi Wyn) 1784-1841

(The Day of Judgment)
Has the last great day come?
  And do I hear the sound
      of the large trumpet?
It is shaking the world, -
    every grave free,
  All the captives of the dust
      of the ground shall awaken;
And the great depths altogether giving
  Up all the dead now,
From fear of the command of
    the Judge of the world,
  Before the great white throne.
