Addurnodd Duw fy enaid noeth

(Addurn y Cristion)
Addurnodd Duw fy enaid noeth,
A gwisgoedd iechydwriaeth goeth;
  Ar bryfyn tlawd llygredig cas,
  Dysgleirio mae ei ddwyfol ras.

A rhag i un brycheuyn du
Gael aros ar fy enaid cu,
  Y wisg o waith
      fy Mhrynwr drud,
  A daflodd ef o'm cylch i gyd.

Fe dreuliodd Crist ei oes trwy gur,
I weithio i'm gyfiawnder pur;
  A harddach yw fy ngwisgiad drud,
  Na gwisgiad gwych
      breninoedd byd.

[Mesur: MH 8888]

(The Adornment of the Christian)
God adorned my naked soul,
With the refined garments of salvation;
  On a poor, corrupt, detestable worm,
  His divine grace will shine.

And lest one black spot
Get to stay on my dear soul,
  The garment of the work
      of my precious Redeemer,
  He has flung all around me.

Christ spent his life through anguish
To work for me pure righteousness;
  And more beautiful is my precious clothing,
  Than the brilliant clothing
      of the kings of the world.
