Ai blinderog wyt a llwythog (Ai mewn trallod blin?)

Art thou weary art thou languid? / Κόπον τε καὶ κάματον;

Ai blinderog wyt a llwythog,
  Ai mewn trallod blin?
"Ti gei gennyf," medd yr Iesu,
  "Dawel hun."

A oes ganddo nod i'm tywys,
  Fel arweinydd gwir?
"Yn ei ystlys, traed a dwylo
  Ôl y dyr."

A addurnir ael y Brenin
  Gan aur goron gain?
"Rhoddir arni goron eglur
  Ond o ddrain."

Os dilynaf ôl ei lwybrau,
  Rydd Ef wobr i mi?
"Mynych alar, mynych lafur,
  Dagrau'n lli."

Os ymlynaf wrtho'n ffyddlon
  Beth a ganlyn hyn?
"Diwedd tristwch, diwedd gofid,
  Croesi'r glyn."

Os erfyniaf arno' 'nerbyn,
  A wrthoda Ef?
"Ni wna d'wrthod, nes êl heibio
  Ddaear a nef."

A oes bendith imi'n ddiau
  Ar ôl cario'r groes?
"Angel, merthyr, proffwyd, gwryf
  Tystiant 'Oes'."

Tôn [8583]: Bullinger
    (1874 Ethelbert W Bullinger 1837-1913)

Art thou weary and burdened,
  Art thou in grievous trouble?
"Thou mayst get from me," said Jesus,
  "Quiet sleep."

Does he have a sign to guide me,
  Like a true leader?
"In his side, feet and hands
  The mark of the steel."

Is the brown of the King adorned
  With a fine golden crown?
"A clear crown is put upon him
  But of thorns."

If I follow the trace of his paths,
Will he give a reward to me?
"Frequent lamenting, frequent labour,
  Tears as a flood."

If I stick to him faithfully
  What shall follow this?
"The end of sadness, the end of grief,
  Crossing the vale."

If I entreat him to accept me,
  Will he reject me?
"He will not reject thee, until earth
  And heaven pass away."

Is there is a certain blessing for me
  After carrying the cross?
"Angel, martyr, prophet, virgin
  They testify 'Yes'."
tr. 2020 Richard B Gillion
Art thou weary, art thou languid,
  Art thou sore distressed?
Come to Me, saith One, and coming,
  Be at rest.

Hath He marks to lead me to Him,
  If He be my Guide?
In His feet and hands are wound prints
  And His side.

Hath He diadem, as monarch,
  That His brow adorns?
Yes, a crown in very surety,
  But of thorns.

If I find Him, if I follow,
  What His guerdon here?
Many a sorrow, many a labour,
  Many a tear.

If I still hold closely to Him,
  What hath He at last?
Sorrow vanquished, labour ended,
  Jordan passed.

If I ask Him to receive me,
  Will He say me nay?
Not till earth and not till Heaven
  Pass away.

Finding, following, keeping, struggling,
  Is He sure to bless?
Saints, apostles, prophets, martyrs,
  Answer, Yes!
