  Ai Seren yw?
Ei nerth a chwal yn llwyr
  Y dywell nos,
A holl gysgodau'r hwyr;
  'Rwy'n gwel'd o bell
Ei llewyrch llon drwy ffydd,
  A gwybod 'rwyf,
Mai hon yw'r seren ddydd.

  Ai haul yw ef?
Rhydd lewyrch gras ar led,
  Ei gylch a'i wres
Trwy'r anial dir a red;
  Cenedloedd pell
Wynebant ar y nef,
  Gan lawenhau
Pan ymddangoso ef.

  Is he a Star?
His strength shall smash completely
  The dark night,
And all the shadows of the evening;
  I am seeing from afar
His cheerful radiance through faith,
  And I know,
That he is the daystar.

  Is he a sun?
He sends the radiance of grace abroad,
  His circle with his warmth
Throughout the desert land he will run;
  Distant nations
Shall face heaven,
  Rejoicing
When he appears.
