Am brydferthwch daear fyd

For the beauty of the earth

Am brydferthwch daear fyd,
  Am brydferthwch wybren dlos,
Am y cariad er ein crud
  Sydd o'n amgylch ddydd a nos:
    Nefol Dad, yn awr nyni
    Roddwn aberth mawl i ti.

Am ein holl berthnasau cu,
  Plant, rhieni, chwaer a brawd;
Ceraint yma, ceraint fry;
  Am bob meddwl tyner gawd;

Am dy rhoddion perffaith, rhad
  I'r dynoliaeth, codwn lef -
Grasau dynol a dwyfol had,
  Blodau'r llawr a blagur nef -

Am yr Eglwys gwyd o hyd
  Ei dihalog ddwylaw fry,
Gan offrymu trwy y byd
  Aberth pur ei chariad cry';
    Nefol Dad, yn awr nyni
    Roddwn aberth mawl i ti.
Thomas Jones 1850-1937

Tôn [77.77.77]: Dix (Conrad Kocher / W H Monk)

For the beauty of an earth world,
  For the beauty of a lovely sky,
For the love since the cradle
  Which is around us day and night:
    Heavenly Father, now we
    Give a sacrifice of praise to thee.

For all our dear relationships,
  Children, parents, sister and brother;
Kinfolk here, kinfolk above;
  For every tender thought had;

For thy perfect, free gifts
  To humankind, we raise a cry -
Human graces and divine seed,
  Flowers of earth and shoots of heaven -

For the church which still raises
  Its undefiled hands up,
Offering throughout the world
  The sacrifice of its strong love;
    Heavenly Father, now we
    Give a sacrifice of praise to thee.
tr. 2009 Richard B Gillion
For the beauty of the earth
  For the glory of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
  Over and around us lies.
    Gracious God to Thee we raise
    This our sacrifice of praise.

For the joy of human love,
  Brother, sister, parent, child,
Friends on earth and friends above,
  For all gentle thoughts and mild.

For each perfect gift of Thine,
  To our race so freely given,
Graces human and divine,
  Flowers of earth and buds of Heaven.

For Thy Church, that evermore
  Lifteth holy hands above,
Offering up on every shore
  Her pure sacrifice of love.
    Gracious God to Thee we raise
    This our sacrifice of praise.
1864 Folliot S Pierpoint 1835-1917
