Arglwydd ein bywyd Duw ein hiachawdwriaeth

Lord of our life and God of our salvation

Arglwydd ein bywyd,
    Duw ein hiachawdwriaeth,
Seren ein nos, a
    gobaith y ddynoliaeth,
Clyw weddi d'Eglwys
    am lwyr waredigaeth,
  Dduw hollalluog.

Gwêl gylch dy arch y môr
    â'i donnau'n rhuo,
Gwêl y gelynion
    â'u banerau'n chwifio,
Pan fyddo'u saethau llymion
    hwy yn gwibio,
  Gwared, O Arglwydd.

Iôr, cymorth ni pan
    ballo'n holl arfogaeth,
Iôr, cymorth rhag i'r
    drwg gael goruchafiaeth,
Iôr, cadw d'Eglwys byth
    rhag pob bradwriaeth,
  Iôr, dyro dangnef.

Rho inni, Arglwydd,
    nerth i drechu'r gelyn,
Rho dy wirionedd,
    a dychwela'r cyndyn,
Rho in dangnefedd
    yma'n awr, ac wedyn
  Hedd yn dy nefoedd.

Tonau [11.11.11.5]:
Coelites Plaudant (alaw Eglwysig Rouen)
Iste Confessor (Poitiers Antiphoner 1746)

Lord of our life,
    God of our salvation,
Star of our night, and
    hope of humanity,
Hear the prayer of thy Church
    for complete deliverance,
  God almighty.

See around thy ark the sea
    and its waves roaring,
See the enemies
    with their banners waving,
When their sharp arrows
    are flitting,
  Deliver, O Lord.

Master, help us when
    all our armour be failing,
Master, help us lest the
    evil get supremacy,
Master, keep thy Church forever
    from all betrayal,
  Master, grant peace.

Give us, Lord,
    strength to overcome the enemy,
Give thy truth,
    and turn the obstinate,
Give us tranquility
    here now, and then
  Peace in thy heaven.
tr. 2019 Richard B Gillion
Lord of our life and
    God of our salvation,
Star of our night and
    Hope of ev'ry nation:
Hear and receive Your
    Church's supplication,
  Lord God Almighty.

See round Your ark the
    hungry billows curling;
See how Your foes their
    banners are unfurling
And with great spite their
    fiery darts are hurling,
  O Lord, preserve us.

Lord, be our light when
    worldly darkness veils us;
Lord, be our shield when
    earthly armour fails us;
And in the day when
    hell itself assails us,
  Grant us Your peace, Lord:

Peace in our hearts, where
    sinful thoughts are raging,
Peace in Your Church, our
    troubled souls assuaging,
Peace when the world its
    endless war is waging,
  Peace in Your heaven.
