Anfeidrol Iôr Llywiawdwr byd

Anfeidrol Iôr, Llywiawdwr byd
A'i holl drigolion ynddo'i gyd,
  D'ewyllys yw eu deddfau glân,
  A thestun eu tragwyddol gân;
O cofia am y rheini sy
Yn teithio yn yr wybren fry.

Goleua di eu deall hwy
I weld dy ffyrdd, a'u dilyn mwy,
  A llechu dan dy adain glyd
  Yng nghyfyngderau mawr eu byd;
A'u hofnau rhag dy wên a ffy
Wrth deithio yn yr wybren fry.

D'adnabod di, yr unig Dduw,
A gweld dy ffyrdd, ac ynddynt fyw,
  Yw'r gobaith cryf a'r gwir fwynhad
  I'r rhai sy'n byw
      yn nhŷ eu Tad;
A'i bresenoldeb iddynt sy
Wrth deithio yn yr wybren fry.

Vater Unser (Schumann Gesangbuch 1539)

Infinite Lord, Governor of a world
And all its inhabitants in it altogether,
  Thy will is their holy laws,
  And the theme of their eternal song;
O remember those who
Travel in the sky above.

Enlighten thou their understanding
To see thy ways, and follow them evermore,
  And shelter under thy cosy wings
  In the great distresses of their world;
And their fears flee from thy smile
While travelling in the sky above.

To know thee, the only God,
And see thy ways, and in them live,
  Is the strong hope and the true enjoyment
  For those who live
      in their Father's house;
And his presence to be with them
While travelling in the sky above.
tr. 2019 Richard B Gillion
