Ar hynod ddiwrnod llu'r nefoedd mewn syndod

(Gorchwyl y cymmod)
Ar hynod ddiwrnod,
    llu'r nefoedd mewn syndod
Fu'n edrych i waered
    ar orchwyl y cymmod;
  Pob dirgel berffeithrwydd
      yn natur Iehofa,
  Ddysgleiriodd yn danbaid
      ar gopa Calfaria;
Gogoniant i'r Iesu,
    ennillodd ein rhyddid,
Yn well ni a'i molwn,
    ar faesydd y bywyd.

Tywyllodd yr haul,
    llewyrchodd y nefoedd,
Fe rwygwyd pob llen
    ar ddyfnion ddirgeloedd,
  Ein Cadben trwy angeu
      a'i ddwyfol ufudd-dod,
  Faluriodd yn chwilfriw
      byrth uffern i'r gwaelod;
Gogoniant i'r Iesu,
    ennillodd ein rhyddid,
Yn well ni a'i molwn
    ar faesydd y bywyd.

Tôn [12.12.T/afreolaidd]: Gomer (<1875)

(The task of atonement)
On a notable day,
    the host of heaven in surprise
Was looking down
    on the task of atonement;
  Every secret perfection
      in the nature of Jehovah,
  Shone like fire
      on the summit of Calvary;
Glory to Jesus,
    who won our freedom,
We had better praise him,
    on the fields of life.

The sun darkened,
    heaven shone,
Torn was every curtain
    over deep secrets,
  Our Captain through death
      and his divine obedience,
  Smashed into smithereens
      the portals of hell right down;
Glory to Jesus,
    who won our freedom,
We had better praise him,
    on the fields of life.
tr. 2019 Richard B Gillion
