Gracious Lord, give help To the very clear publishing, The depth of the heart of pitiful man, And the immeasurable divine gift: So that the wretch may Get heaven's treasure freely. God, reign on the earth, From the far west to the south; Take possession of the regions Furthest, darkest, under heaven: Sun of Righteousness, Fill the great earth with thy grace. May the ministers of life spread The salvation of Jesus abroad; May seas convey promises Afar to those without belief: May the Gospel go On wings of divine wind. Let the residents of the desert come, Let the inhabitants of vale and hill come; Let those who are on the high sea come, To love this salvation: Until resound Praise around the world. Behold the fearful, guilty, unclean, Seeking to be white, In the river of a mixture of colours, White broke out on the hill; The balm of Gilead, Incomparable is thy blood. Grant my passions like singers, To play their fingers in harmony, On the harp which is sounding, The name of great JESUS himself; None but JESUS, Shall be my delight day and night.   - - - - - Gracious Lord, give help To the very clear publishing, The depth of the heart of pitiful man, And the immeasurable divine gift: So that the wretch may Get heaven's treasure freely. A secure shield is thy name, When the enemy is near; Death itself fears, Death loses heart: Thou hast overcome, There is only singing now for me. Oh write clearly, clearly, All in full letters, Every single small syllable of thy law, On my breast here together; That I forget not, Ever thy words of great value. May my heart be for thee a temple, May my spirit be for thee a nest; And within the residence here, Abide, Jesus, abide forever: A continuous feast, Will be thy presence to me.
(Before a Sermon) Gracious Lord, give help To publish still abroad The depth of the heart of pitiful man, And the immeasurable riches of grace: That depth may Forever about depth get to mention. Give thy Spirit to speak And to listen to thy pure words; Let thy delightful, heavenly radiance be And thy approval on the truth: Oh reveal The indomitable power of thy grace. Thy word like a hammer, will break very Rocky hearts into smithereens; Thy word, like a fire, will truly light, And will purify the dirty into clean: Let us feel The divine strength of the gospel of peace.
