Bu gofidiau yn dy ddilyn

(Craig yr Oesoedd)
Bu gofidiau yn Dy ddilyn,
  Iesu mawr i Garfari;
Ac fe rwygwyd gan ddaeargryn
  Galon ddofn Dy fynwes Di;
    Mae i minnau
  Loches mwy yn adwy'r Graig.

Pan fo'r gelyn ar fy ngwarthaf,
  A dialedd ar ei gledd,
Am y Graig yr ymofynnaf,
  Yn ei chysgod mae fy hedd;
    Bendigedig
  Fyddo Duw, am noddfa'r Graig.

Mae'r mynyddoedd yn heneiddio,
  Cyfnewidiol yw eu llun;
Daear hithau yn malurio,
  Nid oes dim yn dal yr un:
    Treulied amser,
  Digyfnewid yw y Graig.

Rhued moroedd o drallodau
  A'u dyfnderau'n wae i gyd;
Cured holl ystormydd angau
  Ar obeithion goreu'r byd;
    Angor f'enaid
  Ddeil ei afael yn y Graig.

(The Rock of Ages)
Griefs were following thee,
  Great Jesus, to Calvary;
And rent by an earthquake was
  The deep heart of thy bosom;
    Whereas there is for me
  A hiding place in the cleft of the Rock.

When the enemy is upon me,
  And vengeance on his sword,
For the Rock I ask,
  In its shadow is my peace;
    Blessed
  Be God, for the refuge of the Rock.

The mountains are ageing,
  Changeable is their appearance;
Earth itself decaying,
  There is nothing that stays the same:
    Let time be spent,
  Unchanging is the Rock.

Let seas of troubles roar
  And their depths altogether woe;
Let all the storms of death beat
  On the best hopes of the world;
    The anchor of my soul
  Shall keep its hold in the Rock.
