Bu Iesu yn y ddalfa
  Gan wyr y gwaewffyn,
Bu farw dan yr hoelion
  Ar ben Calfaria fryn:
Fe'i rhoed mewn craig i orwedd
  Ar waelod bedd dan gudd:
Er gwaetha'r maen a'r milwyr,
  Cyfodai'r trydydd dydd!

Jesus was in the prison
  Guarded by men with spears,
He died under the nails
  On the summit of Calvary hill:
He was put in a rock to lie
  Hidden at the bottom of a grave:
Despite the stone and the soldiers,
  He arose on the third day!
