Cafwyd un yn ffyddlon gyfaill

Cafwyd un yn ffyddlon gyfaill;
  Hwn a lŷn yn well na brawd;
Mae'n rhagori ar bawb eraill,
  Er ein mwyn fe aeth yn dlawd;
Rhyfedd yw ei gariad rhad,
Mae'n dragwyddol ei barhâd.

Boed i'r Oen yr holl ogoniant,
  Haeddai'r mawl a'r clod i gyd;
Fe lifeiriodd ei dosturi
  Fel y moroedd at y byd:
Dygodd Dduw a ninnau'n un;
Gwnaeth yr hedd â'i waed ei hun.

One was found a faithful friend;
  He will stick better than a brother;
He is superior to everyone else,
  Although for our sake he became poor;
Wonderful is his gracious love,
It is eternally enduring.

To the Lamb be all the glory,
  He deserved the praise and all the acclaim;
His mercy streamed
  Like the seas to the world:
It drew God and us together as one;
He made the peace with his own blood.

One there is, above all others,
  Well deserves the name of friend;
His is love beyond a brother's,
  Costly, free, and knows no end:
They who once His kindness prove,
Find it everlasting love!

Which of all our friends to save us,
  Could or would have shed their blood?
But our Jesus died to have us
  Reconciled, in Him to God:
This was boundless love indeed!
Jesus is a friend in need.
