Clodforwn Di, O! Iesu, Am Ysgol Sul ein glwad - Yr Ysgol sy'n cyfrannu Ei haddysg inni'n rhad. Mawrygwn lafur helaeth Ein tadau erddi hi, I'w rhoddi'n etifeddiaeth Gyfoethog deg i ni. Yn nyddiau ein plentyndod, Cymerodd ni'n ei chôl, I'n dysgu i'th adnabod A cherdded ar dy ôl. Agorodd ein meddyliau I werth dy eiriau pur, A golud y grasusau Tragwyddol, sy'n dy gur. Mae'n galw heddiw'n ddyfal A'r Beibil yn ei llaw; Paham mae plant ei gofal Yn chwennych crwydro draw? Ti, Iesu, a'n henynno I'w chodi i fawrhad; Na ddoed y dydd pan ballo Ei bendith fawr i'n gwlad.George Rees 1873-1950 Tôn [7676D]: Morning Light (G J Webb 1803-87) |
We extol thee, O Jesus, From the Sunday School of our land - The school which shares Its teaching with us freely. We magnify the generous labour Of our fathers on her behalf, To give our rich, Fair heritage to us. In the days of our childhood, It took us in its bosom, To teach us to know thee And walk after thee. It opened our thoughts To the value of thy pure words, And the wealth of the eternal Graces, that are in thy wounding. It is calling us today devotedly With the Bible in its hand; Why are the children of its care Lusting to wander afar? Thou, Jesus, dost urge us To raise her to greatness; Let the day never come when its Great blessing ceases in our land.tr. 2021 Richard B Gillion |
