Chwi, eneidiau, pam y crwydrwch Fel tarfedig braidd o dref? Ffôl galonnau, pam y cefnwch Ar ei ryfedd gariad ef? A fu cyn dirioned Bugail, Neb erioed mor fwyn ei fryd Â'r Gwaredwr a fu'n gwaedu Er mwyn casglu'i braidd ynghyd? Mae'i drugaredd ef yn llydan, Mae yn llydan fel y môr; Ac mae gras sydd fwy na rhyddid Yng nghyfiawnder cyfraith Iôr. Cans mae cariad Duw'n ehangach Na doethineb eitha'r byd, Ac mae calon yr Anfeidrol Yn rhyfeddol fwyn o hyd. Y mae cyflawn waredigaeth Yn yr hwn fu ar y pren; Mae gorfoldd i'w holl Eglwys Yng ngofidiau Crist, ei Phen. Drist eneidiau, dewch at Iesu, Ymneséwch heb amau dim; Dewch mewn ffydd yn rhin ei gariad, Profwch o'i anfeidrol rym. Pe bai'n cariad yn fwy didwyll, Digon fyddai'i air i ddyn; Byddai'n hoes yn llawn hyfrydwch, Yn hyfrydwch Duw ei hun.cyf. John T Job 1867-1938 Tôn [8787]: St Mabyn (A H Brown 1830-1926) |
Ye, souls, why do ye wander Like a scattered flock away from home? Foolish hearts, why do ye turn your backs On his wonderful love? Was there before such a tender Shepherd, Anyone ever as gentle his mind As the Deliverer who did bleed In order to gather his flock together? His mercy is broad, It is broad like the sea; And grace which is greater than freedom In the righteousness of the Lord's law. For the love of God is wider Than the utmost wisdom of the world, And the heart of the Infinite is Wonderfully gentle always. There is full deliverance In him who was on the tree; There is rejoicing for his whole Church In the griefs of Christ, its Head. Sad souls, come to Jesus, Draw near without any doubts; Come in faith in the merit of his love, Experience his infinite strength. If our love were more sincere, Sufficient would be his word to man; Our life would be full of delight, Delighting in God himself.tr. 2015 Richard B Gillion |
Souls of men, why will ye scatter Like a crowd of frightened sheep? Foolish hearts, why will ye wander From a love so true and deep? Was there ever kinder shepherd Half so gentle, half so sweet, As the Saviour who would have us Come and gather round His feet? There's a wideness in God's mercy, Like the wideness of the sea; There's a kindness in His justice, Which is more than liberty. For the love of God is broader Than the measure of man's mind. And the heart of the Eternal Is most wonderfully kind. There is plentiful redemption In the blood that has been shed; There is joy for all the members In the sorrows of the Head. Pining souls! come nearer Jesus, And oh! come not doubting thus, But with faith that trusts more bravely His huge tenderness for us. If our love were but more simple, We should take Him at His word; And our lives would all be sunshine In the sweetness of our Lord.Frederick W Faber 1814-1863
