Creawdwr daiar lawr a'r nef

Creawdwr daiar lawr a'r nef,
Y seithfed dydd gorphwysodd Ef;
  A thrwy yr oesau'n ddiwahân
  Cyssegrodd ef yn Sabbath glân.

Trwy holl dymmorau
    brau ein hoes
Fe'n dysg i dawel ddwyn ein croes;
  Trwy ddwyn y groes
      y cawn y dydd
  Ar allu mawr yr angeu prudd.

Pan dderfydd ymladd
    brwydrau'r byd,
A dattod rhwymau'r cnawd i gyd,
  Cawn ganddo
      Sabbath o fwynhâd
  Mewn bywyd bythol ei barhâd.

[Mesur: MH 8888]

The Creator of earth below and heaven,
On the seventh day He rested;
  And throughout the ages undivided
  He consecrated it as a holy Sabbath.

Throughout all the fragile
    seasons of our age
He teaches us quietly to carry our cross;
  Through carrying the cross
      we may gain the day
  Over the great power of sad death.

When fighting the battles
    of the world ceases,
And all the bonds of the flesh are undone,
  We may get from him
      a Sabbath of enjoyment
  In an ever-enduring life.
