Cydganwn glod i'r Iesu gwiw

A solis ortus cardine

Cydganwn glod i'r Iesu gwiw,
Ein Prynwr a'n Gwarewr yw;
  Hawddamor byth i'r dydd pan ddaeth
  I'n rhoi yn rhydd o'r carchar caeth.

Fel gwas yr ymddangosodd ef,
Er maint ei fawredd yn y nef;
  Yr hwn heb drais oedd Dduw ei hun
  A aned inni'n wael ei lun.

Fe glywyd llais Angylion nef
Yn rhoi anrhydedd iddo ef;
  "Gogoniant i'r Goruchaf Dduw,
  Ewyllys da i ddynol-ryw."

I'r Tad sydd yn preswylio fry,
I'r Mab a aned erom ni,
  I'r Ysbryd Glân, y Tri yn Un,
  Boed clod tragwyddol yn gytûn.

    Wareham (William Knapp 1798-1868)

Let us sing together praise to the worthy Jesus,
Our Redeemer and our Deliverer he is;
  Hail forever to the day when he came
  To set us free from the prison of captivity.

Like a servant he appeared,
Despite the extent of his majesty in heaven;
  The one without violence was God himself
  Who was born to us in a lowly condition.

The voice of the Angels of heaven was heard
Giving honour unto him;
  "Glory to the Most High God,
  Good will to human-kind."

To the Father who is residing above,
To the Son who was born for our sake,
  To the Holy Spirit, the Three in One,
  Be eternal praise in agreement.
