Daeth y Ceidwad llawenhawn

Daeth y Ceidwad, llawenhawn,
Gyda'r dorf i Fethlem awn;
  Gwelwn yno'r Ceidwad cun
  Wedi gwisgo natur dyn.

    Gloria in excelsis Deo,
    Gloria in excelsis Deo.

Ganed, do,
    ym Methlem dref,
Grist, Eneiniog mawr y nef;
  Wele Air y Dwyfol Ri,
  Iôr y nef, Duw gyda ni.

Clywch! caniadau Engyl sy
Yn datseinio'r nefoedd fry;
  Dydd gorfoledd heddiw yw,
  Dydd cymodi dyn â Duw.

Dewch, addolwn ger ei fron,
Ef yw Arglwydd daear gron;
  Er mor dlawd ei lety yw,
  Egwan Ddyn, mae'n gadarn Dduw.

Llafarganed pobloedd byd,
A'r ynysoedd pell ynghyd;
  A chydfloeddied
      côr y nef
  Byth ogoniant iddo ef.

Tôn [77.77.99]: Les Anges dans nos Campagnes
    (alaw Ffrengig)

The Saviour came, let us rejoice,
With the throng to Bethlehem let us go;
  Let us see there the dear Saviour
  Having put on the nature of man.

    Gloria in excelsis Deo,
    Gloria in excelsis Deo.

He was born, yes he was,
    in Bethlehem town,
Christ, the great Anointed of heaven;
  See the Word of the Divine Chieftain,
  The Sovereign of heaven, God with us.

Hear the song of the angels which are
Resounding in the heavens above;
  A day of jubilation today is,
  A day of reconciliation of man and God.

Come ye, let us worship before him,
His is the Lord of the round earth;
  Although so poor is his lodging,
  Weak Man, he is strong God.

Let the peoples of the world sing loudly,
And the  distant islands together;
  And let the choir of heaven
      shout together
  Forever glory unto him.
tr. 2015 Richard B Gillion
