Dyma bechadur truan gwan

(Griddfanau yr edifeiriol)
Dyma bechadur truan, gwan,
  Yn gruddfan dan ei boen,
Yn methu dod i'r ffynon rad,
  Santeiddiaf waed yr Oen.

Rho brawf i'm o'r winwydden rydd
  O fywyd sydd yn llawn;
Y ffynon fawr agorwyd fry
  Ar Galfari brydnawn.

Cysurwch fi, afonydd pur,
  Rhedegog ddyfroedd byw,
Sy'n tarddu o dan riniog cu
  Sancteiddiaf dŷ fy Nuw.

Yn nyfnder profedigaeth du,
  Dos dy hunan o fy mlaen;
Ond i mi gael bod gydâ thi,
  Nid ofnaf ddw'r na thân.

Dyma bechadur truan gwan
  Yn griddfan tan ei boen,
Yn methu dod i'r ffynnon rad,
  Santeiddiaf waed yr Oen.

Duw, dere'n glau, mae'n gyflawn bryd,
  Mae bellach yn hwyrhau,
A grym fy mhla sydd wedi'm rhoi
  I hollol lwyfrhau.

O maddeu 'mai, a chliria'n llwyr,
  F'euogrwydd oll i gyd;
Ac na'd im' flino
    d'Ysbryd mwy
  Tra byddwyf yn y byd.

(The groans of the repentant)
Behold a poor, weak sinner,
  Groaning under his pain,
Failing to come to the gracious fount,
  The most sacred blood of the Lamb.

Give an experience to me of the free vine
  Which is full of life;
The great fount was opened up
  On Calvary one afternoon.

Comfort me, ye pure rivers,
  Running with living waters,
Which issue from under the dear threshold
  Of the most sacred house of my God.

In the depth of black bereavement,
  Come thyself before me;
If only I get to be with thee,
  I shall fear neither water nor fire.

                - - - - -

Here is a wretched weak sinner
  Groaning under his pain,
Failing to come to the free fountain,
  The most sacred blood of the Lamb.

God, come quickly, it is high time,
  Now it is growing late,
And the force of my plague has made me
  Completely lose heart.

O forgive my fault, and clear completely
  All my guilt altogether;
And do not let me grieve
    thy Spirit any more
  While ever I am in the world.
