Dyrchafwn ganiad newydd

(Dathliad canmlwyddiant a hanner
Capel yr Annibynwyr Gellimanwydd,
Rhydaman, Hydref 1932.)
Dyrchafwn ganiad newydd,
  O Arglwydd, ger dy fron
Am dy amddiffyn grasol
  I'r demel annwyl hon:
Deisyfwn unwaith eto
  Am olwg ar dy wedd
Lle buost drwy'r blynyddoedd
Yn rhoi o rin dy hedd.

Bu'n tadau gynt yn dyfod
  O bellter bro a bryn
I blygu mewn addoliad
  O fewn i'r muriau hyn:
Datguddiaist iddynt drysor
  Dy gariad ar eu taith,
Dod inni ffydd i'w canlyn
  Heb wyrni yn dy waith.

Teyrnased dy dangnefedd
  Yn amlwg yma mwy,
A rhwyma ein gobeithion
Am Grist a'i groes a'i glwy':
Dan wenau heulwen hawddfyd
  A gwg y chwerwaf chwyth
Boed y golomen nefol
  Yn aros yma byth.

(The sesquicentenary celebration of
the Independents' Chapel, Gellimanwy,
Amanford, October 1932.)
Let us raise a new song,
  O Lord, before thee,
For thy gracious protection
  Over thy beloved temple:
We beseech thee once again
For a sight of thy countenance
Where thou wast throughout the years
Giving from the virtue of thy peace.

Our fathers of old came
From the distance of vale and hill
To bow in adoration
  With these walls:
Thou didst reveal to them the treasure
Of thy love upon their journey,
Give us too faith to follow them
  Without deviating in thy work.

Let thy peace reign
  Evidently here evermore,
And bind our hopes
For Christ nd his cross and his wound:
Under the the smiles of pleasant sunshine
  And the most bitter blast,
May the heavenly dove
  Stay here forever.
