Dowch blant i ganu

Dowch blant i ganu
  Am ryfedd ddoniau Duw:
Fe sy'n ein porthi,
  Ac yn ein cadw'n fyw;
Efe o'i nef yw Tad y glaw,
Ac Ef a gwyd yr huan draw,
Mae'r gwynt a'r cyfan yn ei law
  Yn ddoniau hael i ddynion.

Dowch, cenwch iddo,
  Â phêr soniarus lef,
Mawl fo'n datseinio
  I entyrch nef y nef;
Efe wnaeth brydferth sêr y nen,
Y rhosyn coch a'r lili wen,
A'r blodau mân sy'n plygu eu pen
  Yn wylaidd mewn unigrwydd.

Dowch, dyblwch ganu:
  Y fendith fwyaf oll
Yw trefn i wared
  Rhai wedi mynd ar goll;
Y Tad, ei unig Fab a roes,
I farw drosom ar y Groes,
Dioddefodd yntau angau loes,
  O'i fodd dros bechaduriaid.

    (Hans Georg Nägeli 1773-1836)

Come, children, to sing
  About the wonderful gifts of God:
He it is who feeds us,
  And keeps us alive;
He from his heaven is the Father of the rain,
And he raises yonder sun,
The wind and everything in his hand are
  Generous gifts to men.

Come, render to him,
  With a sweet tuneful cry,
Praise that it be resounding
  To the vault of the heaven of heaven;
He made the beautiful stars of heaven,
The red rose and the white lily,
And the little flowers that bow their heads
  Modestly in isolation.

Come double your singing:
  The greatest blessing of all
Is to arrange to deliver
  Those who have got lost;
The Father, who gave his only Son,
To die for us on the Cross,
Suffered himself deadly throes,
  Of his will for sinners.
tr. 2010 Richard B Gillion
