Deffro Ysbryd y goleuni

(Gwyl Flynyddol
Eglwys y Pererinion)
Deffro, Ysbryd y goleuni,
  Yn Dy ddylanwadau glān,
Ennyn ynom fawl a gweddi,
  Ail-gyneua'r nefol dān;
Nertha'n traed, sancteiddia'n calon,
  I barhau o dan y groes
Ar hyd llwybrau'r pererinion
  Gysegrasant it' eu hoes.

Rhwng y muriau maluriedig
  Un yw ffydd y saint o hyd,
Un yw'r Eglwys lān gatholig,
  Un yw iachawdwriaeth byd.
Ysbryd undeb teulu Seion,
  Rho Dy falm i wella'n briw,
Gwna ni'n un ā'r pererinion,
  Un yn undeb cariad Duw.

O! tosturia, Ysbryd Iesu,
  Wrth Dy Eglwys yma'n awr,
Dwyn y mae yr olion hynny,
  Ddygodd yntau ar y llawr:
Gweddnewidia'r briwiau dyfnion,
  Rhwym ei holl ddoluriau hi,
O! Dywysydd pererinion
  Gwrando'n herfyniadau ni.

Deffro, Ysbryd y goleuni,
  Yn dy ddylanwadau glān,
Ennyn ynom fawl a gweddi,
  Ac ailgynna'r nefol dān;
Nertha'n traed, sancteiddia'n calon,
  I barhau ar ffordd y groes,
Ar hyd llwybrau'r gwaredigion
  A gysegrodd it eu hoes.

Rhwng y muriau cysegredig
  Un yw ffydd y saint o hyd:
Un yw'r Eglwys lān gatholig,
  Un yw iachawdwriaeth byd;
Ysbryd undeb teulu Sļon,
  Rho dy falm i wella'n briw,
Gwna ni'n un ā'r pererinion,
  Un yn undeb cariad Duw.

O tosturia, Ysbryd Iesu,
  Wrth dy Eglwys ar y llawr,
Sy'n milwrio, gan hiraethu
  Am ei gwaredigaeth fawr;
Llwyr iachā eu briwiau dyfnion,
  Rhwym ei holl ddoluriau hi;
O Arweinydd pererinion,
  Gwrando'n dwys erfyniau ni.

Bavaria (F Mendelssohn-Bartholdy 1809-47)

(The Annual Festival
of the Church of the Pilgrims)
Awake, Spirit of the light,
  In Thy holy influence,
Kindle in us praise and prayer,
  Re-ignite the heavenly fire;
Strengthen our feet, sanctify our heart,
 To continue under the cross
Along the paths of the pilgrims
  Who consecrated their lives to thee.

Between the ruined walls
  One is the faith of the saints still,
One is the holy, catholic Church,
  One is the salvation of the world.
Spirit of the unity of the family of Zion,
  Give Thy balm to heal our wound,
Make us one with the pilgrims,
  In the unity of the love of God.

O, have mercy, Spirit of Jesus,
  On Thy Church here now!
Bearing she is these marks,
  That he bore on the earth:
Transform the deep wounds,
  Bind up all her sorrows,
O, Leader of pilgrims,
  Listen to our entreaties!

               - - - - -

Awake, Spirit of the light,
  In thy holy influences,
Ignite in us praise and prayer,
  And rekindle the heavenly fire;
Strengthen our feet, sanctify our heart,
  To continue on the way of the cross,
Along the paths of the delivered
  Who consecrated to thee their life.

Between the consecrated walls
  One is the faith of the saints still:
One is the holy, catholic Church,
  One is the salvation of the world;
Spirit of the unity of the family of Zion,
  Give thy balm to heal our wound,
Make us one with the pilgrims,
  One in the unity of the love of God.

O, have mercy, Sprit of Jesus,
  On thy Church on the earth,
Which is fighting, while longing
  For her great deliverance;
Completely heal their deep bruises,
  Bind up all her sorrows;
O, Leader of pilgrims,
  Listen intently to our entreaties.
