Lord God, crown this tent Swiftly with thy cheerful presence! Thy fresh blessing, like the dew, From thy protection from heaven descend amongst us. From this temple may esteem be raised And fervent praise to thy divine Being, And let the warm prayer of faith be heard, Within its walls night and day. Thy word sweeter than the honeycomb, Be here constantly under thy seal, To thy servants give thy strength and thy gift, And may thy people get full succour. While the ordinances of thy house are administered, O radiate from above, Thy grace and thy command received before While one stone remains on another. Every service be a living act of worship And full of reverence to the living God, Rebuke the throng of light intent And demand all renown for thy name. May thy people great and small be prepared, For heaven through the pure ministry, From time to time let a host here get Life, under the sound of the dear gospel.tr. 2017 Richard B Gillion |
