Duw! pwy a ddring i'th nefoedd fry, I fyw gerbron dy wyneb cu? Y dyn sy'n awr yn Nghrist yn byw, Gan rodio'n isel gyda Duw. Un glân ei law, a chalon bur, Heb ar ei wefus ond y gwir; Ac wnel yn wastad i bob un, Yr hyn ddymunai iddo'i hun. Ar ras yn unig pwyso wna, Wrth wneyd ei holl weithredoedd da; Hwn yw y dyn gaiff weled Duw, A chydag ef dragwyddol fyw. - - - - - Duw pwy a ddring i'th nefoedd fry, A drig ger bron dy wyneb cu? Ni dderbyn athrod, ac nis dwg I wneathur i'w gymydog ddrwg: Gwael yw'r drygionus ger ei fron, Ond saint, fe'u hanrhydedda'n llon. Diysgog wrth ei air y sai', Ei addewidion mae'n gwblhau; Pa beth a dwng ni newid chwaith, Pa golled bynag ddel o'r gwaith. Er hyn, pan wnel bob gweithred dda, Ar ras yn unig pwyso wna; Hwn ydyw'r dyn caiff weled Duw, A chydag E'n dragwyddol fyw. - - - - - Duw, pwy a ddring i'th nefoedd fry, I fyw ger bron dy wyneb cu? God, who shall climb to thy heavens above, To live before thy dear face? The man who is now living in Christ, While walking lowly with God. A clean one his hand, and a pure heart, With nothing on his lip but the truth; And does constantly to every one, What he would wish unto himself. On grace alone lean he does, While doing all his good deeds; This is the man who will get to see God, And with him eternally live. - - - - - God, who shall climb to thy heavens above, And dwell before thy dear face? The man who through faith in Christ is living, And walking lowly with God. One with a clean hand, and a clear heart, Whose mouth expounds only the truth; No bad word dwells on this one's tongue, And no false step with anyone is found. He receives no slander, and will not lead To do evil to his neighbour: Base is the evil person before him, But saints, he will honour them cheerfully. Immovable by his word he will stand, His promises he fulfils; Whatever he swears he will not change either, Whatever loss come from the action. Despite this, when he does every good action, On grace alone depend he does; This is the man who will get to see God, And with HIm eternally live. - - - - - God, who shall climb to thy heavens above, To live before thy dear face? When he does all his good works, On grace along he leans: This is the man who shall get to see God, And with him eternally to live.tr. 2016,19 Richard B Gillion |
Who shall ascend thy heav'nly place, Great God, and dwell before thy face? The man that minds religion now, And humbly walks with God below; Whose hands are pure, whose heart is clean, Whose lips still speak the thing they mean; And doth to all men still the same That he would hope or wish from them. Yet, when his holiest works are done, His soul depends on grace alone: This is the man thy face shall see, And dwell for ever, Lord, with thee. - - - - - Who shall ascend thy heav'nly place, Great God, and dwell before thy face? The man that minds religion now, And humbly walks with God below; Whose hands are pure, whose heart is clean, Whose lips still speak the thing they mean; No slanders dwell upon his tongue; He hates to do his neighbour wrong. Scarce will he trust an ill report, Nor vents it to his neighbor’s hurt: Sinners of state he can despise, But saints are honoured in his eyes. Firm to his word he ever stood, And always makes his promise good; Nor dares to change the thing he swears, Whatever pain or loss he bears. Yet, when his holiest works are done, His soul depends on grace alone: This is the man thy face shall see, And dwell for ever, Lord, with thee. - - - - - Who shall ascend thy heav'nly place, Great God, and dwell before thy face?
