Dy foliant, O! Dduw, a ddyrchafwn, Di Frenin y saint y mhob oes; Gwroniaid y ffydd a ganmolwn, Fu ffyddlon hyd angau a'i loes; Dy ras a'u cynhaliodd ym mheiriau Gorthrymder a phechod y byd, Dy ffydd oedd eu tarian ym mrwydrau Cyfiawnder a heddwch cyhyd. Dy fawrion weithredoedd a welir Ym mywyd a buchedd dy saint; Eu henwau a'u clod a ddyrchefir Ym moliant dy eglwys, ein braint; Brenhinoedd, proffwydi, bugeiliaid, Arweinwyr dy braidd ym mhob rhad, Merthyron, a'r lluoedd ffyddloniaid, Gwr cedyrn eu heglwys a'u gwlad. Moliannwn dy enw am ddoniau Dy blant mewn cerddoriaeth a chân Dy Ysbryd eneiniodd eu salmau Yn aberth mawl cariad yn dân; Boed moliant i'th enw am olud Holl ddawn a daioni pob oes, Ond molwn di'n bennaf, yn unfryd, Am ddoniau anhraethol y groes. Canmolwn dy seintiau anenwog, Na wybu mo'r ddaear eu gwerth; Cafiawnion o'ent hwy a thrugarog, Mewn gwendid tydi oedd eu nerth; Fe'u rhwymaist o fewn dy gyfamod, Fe'u cedwaist a'u plant yn y byd, A bendith dy gariad diymod Yn harddu eu llwybrau ynghyd. Moliannwn dy enw, Dduw cadarn, Wrth gofio hen seintiau ein gwlad Am Ddewi, a Theilo, a Phadarn, A Deiniol, mewn oesol fawrhad. Dyrchafed dy eglwys ei moliant I'th enw trwy gyrrau'r holl fyd, Rhoed daear a nef y gogoniant I'r Drindod mewn Undod ynghyd.Arthur Simon Thomas (Anellydd) 1865-1935

Thy praise, O God, we will raise, Thou King of the saints of every age; The heroes of faith we extol, Who were faithful unto death and its throes; 'Twas thy grace that upheld them in the cauldrons Of the oppression and sin of the world, Thy faith was their shield in the battles Of righteousness and peace for so long. Thy great deeds are to be seen In the life and conduct of thy saints; Their names and their esteem, which are exalted In the praise of thy church, our privilege; Kings, prophets, pastors, Leaders of thy flocks in every grace, Martyrs, and the hosts of the faithful, Stedfast men of their church and their land. We pray thy name for the gifts Of thy children in music and song Thy Spirit that anointed their psalms As a sacrifice of praise of love as a fire; May there be praise to thy name for the wealth Of all the gift and goodness of every age, But we praise thee chiefly, of one mind, For the inexpressible gifts of the cross. We extol thy unnamed saints, Whose worth the world does not know; Righteous were they a merciful, In weakness thou wast their strength; Thou didst bind them within thy covenant, Thou didst keep them and their children in the world, With the blessing of thy stedfast love Beautifying their paths altogther. We praise thy name, mighty God, On remembering the old saints of our land: David, and Teilo, a Padarn, And Deiniol, in everlasting majesty. May thy church exalt her praise To they name through the corners of the world, May heaven and earth render the glory To the Trinity in Unity altogether. tr. 2019 Richard B Gillion |
