Dyma'r llwyb(y)r a ddewisais

Dyma'r llwybr a ddewisais,
  Etto 'rwyf heb 'difarhau,
Disgwyl f'etifeddiaeth 'r ydwyf,
  Etto heb gael ei fwynhau;
Cyfoeth mawr heb fesur arno,
  Trysor mwy na'r moroedd maith,
Wela'i draw ynghadw i mi,
  Hir brydnhawn, ar ben fy nhaith.

Diangc wnes i 'maes o Sodom,
  Ar y gwastad 'rwyf yn byw,
Mae fy nghefn ar Gomorrah,
  F'wyneb tua gwlad fy Nuw;
Fyny i'r bryniau 'rwyf am ddiangc,
  'Mhell o sawr
      y mwg a'r tân;
Rho dy law, Dywysog bywyd,
  Tyn fy enaid yn y bla'n.

Tôn [8787D]: Vesper (alaw Rwsiaidd)

gwelir:
Mae Dy lwybrau cul yn hyfryd
O llefara addfwyn Iesu
Wyneb siriol fy anwylyd
Y mae'r oriau yn fy ngalw

Here is the path I chose,
  Still I do not regret it,
Waiting for my inheritance am I,
  Still without getting to enjoy it;
Great wealth without any measure to it,
  Treasure greater than the vast mountains,
I see yonder kept for me,
  In the long evening, at my journey's end.

I escaped out of Sodom,
  On the plain I am living,
My back is towards Gomorrah,
  My face towards the land of my God;
Up to the hills I am escaping,
  Far from the smell of
      the smoke and the fire;
Give thy hand, Prince of life,
  Pull my soul forwards.
tr. 2018 Richard B Gillion
