Er meithed yr yrfa a minnau yn flin

("Gan edrych ar Iesu")
Er meithed yr yrfa,
    a minnau yn flin,
Ac er mor dymhestlog
    a chroes yw yr hin,
  Mi redaf yn wrol
      tra pery fy nydd,
  Gan edrych ar Iesu,
      Perffeithydd y ffydd.

Mae cwmwl o dystion
    o hyd yn parhau
Yn wyn o fy amgylch,
    rhag imi lescau;
  A goleu y Nef
      ar y cwmwl ymdaen,
  I gymell fy ysbryd
      lluddedig ymlaen.

Mi welaf Waredwr
    ymlaen ar y Bryn,
Mae'n galw am danaf
    tu arall i'r glyn;
  I ymyl yr afon
      yn llawen y daw
  Â choron cyfiawnder
      i mi yn Ei law.

Bu yntau yn rhedeg
    mewn trallod a chŵyn,
A thynnodd y drain
    ar y ffordd er fy mwyn;
  Cyrhaeddodd y goron,
      er colli Ei waed,
  A sathrodd elynion
      yn fyrdd dan Ei draed.

Nid ofnaf elynion,
    er amled eu rhi',
Mae gallu y Nef
    mewn addewid i mi;
  Am goron y bywyd,
      am wisg ddi-ystaen,
  Gan edrych ar Iesu,
      mi redaf ymlaen.

[Mesur: 11.11.11.11]

("Looking upon Jesus")
Despite how vast the course,
    and I myself weary,
And although so tempestuous
    and contrary is the climate,
  I shall run bravely
      while my nest endures,
  Looking upon Jesus,
      The Perfecter of the faith.

The cloud of witnesses is
    still enduring
In white around me,
    lest I grow feeble;
  And the light of heaven
      on the cloud spreads,
  To urge my exhausted
      spirit onward.

I see my Deliverer
    ahead on the hill,
He is calling for me
    on the other side of the vale;
  To the side of the river
      cheerfully he shall come
  With the crown of righteousness
      for me in his hand.

He himself ran
    in trouble and complaint,
And pulled the thorns
    on the road for my sake;
  He reached the crown,
      despite shedding his blood,
  And trampled a myriad
      of enemies under his feet.

I shall not fear enemies,
    despite how manifold their number,
The power of heaven is
    in promise for me;
  For the crown of life,
      for stainless clothing,
  By looking upon Jesus,
      I shall nun onwards.
